Five Major Programs of Support
The Hope Workers’ Center has existed for 30 years to support migrant workers in Taiwan. Today, we focus our work on five major programs, which we have seen to be most effective: assistance, education, advocacy, community enhancement, and pastoral programs. You can read more about our programs below.
Assistance
We support workers with legal assistance and with a temporary shelter for people who are victims of workplace abuse or human trafficking. To learn more about either of these assistance services, please visit this page or contact us.
Education
We educate workers of their rights in the workplace and about practical life skills through classes, clubs, and media. To learn more about these resources or to discover how you can support our education initiatives, please visit this page or contact us.
Advocacy
We strive to help shape national labor- and immigration-policy reform through grass-roots advocacy and a variety of lobbying coalitions. To learn more about our campaigns and how you can support them, please visit this page or contact us.
Community Support
We seek to foster intercultural and interfaith exchange through supportive community-enhancement events. To learn more about upcoming events of this nature or to find how you can support our initiative, please visit this page or contact us.
Pastoral Guidance
We provide opportunities for spiritual and emotional formation through our pastoral programs (open to participants of any faith background). To learn more about these opportunities and how you can participate, please visit this page or contact us.
