Chungli Association of Immigrants and Families (CAIF)
The Chungli Association of Immigrants and Families (CAIF) is a group supported by the Hope Workers’ Center to support the children of immigrants in our community. Most of the group’s members have one parent who is Filipino and another who is Taiwanese.
Because we recognize that it can be difficult to navigate the intricacies of growing up among multiple cultures, the group was formed as a support network for families in this challenging situation. CAIF conducts activities and lessons for its members. Additionally, many of its teens are active in volunteering as altar servers during Sunday mass.
Raising Children for God
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14).
In a recent reflection, a member of CAIF, Aini Tai, reflected,
“Teacher She [the CAIF children’s teacher] is also a role model for me. She has become the guiding star for my daughter and the other kids in CAIF. When she teaches catechism, the children listen and understand complex topics. I was so proud when, per Teacher She’s guidance, my daughter Felicity received her First Communion. We are delighted and blessed to have these two missionary women!”
We have heard many stories like Aini Tai’s about the positive effects that participation in CAIF can have upon mothers and children.
